Luxemburg

Judith “Judy” J. Simonar, 87, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born in Marinette on December 2, 1938, to the late Ross S. and Alice (Sachs) Maloney.

Judy was a graduate of Luxemburg High School. She met the love of her life, Richard “Rich” M. Simonar and they were married on May 9, 1959, at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2018.

After raising their nine children, she continued to care for and cuddle many infants in the baby room at a Daycare Center, bringing her great joy.

Judy made sure others came first and always welcomed everyone with open arms. Along with her sisters, she made sure every holiday was filled with family, card playing and plenty of food. They also liked to visit the bingo hall together. She enjoyed many years of bowling.

Judy and Rich loved to sit by the waters on the bay at their cottage, where family and friends made many memories. One of her greatest joys was visits from her grandchildren, great grandchildren and grand dogs, which always put a smile on her face.

Survivors include her devoted nine children Lisa Matchopatow, Tod (Annette), Paul (Karen), Rick (Paula), BJ (Shannon), Rob, Jim (Beth), Eric (Jenny), and Mark (Mel); 18 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one on the way; one brother John Maloney; three sisters in law Carol Simonar, Rose Simonar, Barbara Shegonee; one brother in law Louis Kuchta; many nieces, nephews and special friends further survive.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters and brothers in law Faye (Rich) Kuchta, Gwen Kuchta, Tina (Bing) Buettner, Gin Maloney; one sister-in-law Sandy Maloney; brothers in law and sister-in-law Norbert, Jerry, and Leroy (Pat) Simonar.
